Too many churches?
Aug. 11th, 2009 01:17 pmNext day, Saturday, we had a decent breakfast and set off to Herefordshire and the first stop, Holme Lacy and St. Cuthbert's. This was followed by St. Michael's and all angels, Eaton Bishop, St.? at Madley, St. Michael's and all angels, Moccas, St. Mary's church, Monnington-on-Wye and St. Mary Magdalene, Eardisley. Don't ask me about any of the major details.
We spent the night at a pleasant B&B in Hay-on-Wye and on Sunday morning hit a few of the bookshops. Amazingly, I didn't manage to find anything I wanted. Then it was off again, this thime to St. Peter's, Peterchurch but it was closed for major renovation. Next stop was the parish church of St. Mary. formerly Dore Abbey, at Abbeydore and then on to St. ?, Rowlestone, St?, Grosmont, Grosmont castle (a welcome relief), St.?, Skenfrith (no time for the castle) and finally the Knights Templar church at Garway.
I think that's me done with churches for the year.
